20.5.19 Learning about tessellation

In math room 10 and 11 we have been learning about tessellation which is flip,side,turn shapes .We have learned several shapes and flip side turn .Here's my  tessellation . 

13/5/19 We are learning about Lines of symmetry on 2D shapes

In Maths we have been learning about identify lines of symmetry on 2d shapes .
 What we had to do was go on our Chrome books and go on Google docs.
Then we had to go onto google drawings and get a shape and half it .

In room 10 and 11 we did a experiment with A plastic
Cup , Alka-seltzer tablet ,Paper towel ,Food colouring ,
Vegetable oil
,Water and Scientist to do it .My experiment question was
what will
happen if you put the food dye in with the oil
My background knowledge is that  didn’t dissolve
because the water is heavier than the oil .
I thought that the oil will stay on top when you put
the water in and
that the food colouring will set on top of the oil ,
the food dye may not set

Miss gloag went to go get paper towels and spread
four  paper towels in the circle .

Mr morell filled four cups of vegetable oil and water then he gave it to
Miss gloag Step three  Miss gloag placed the cups
filled with oil and another cup with
water onto the paper towels .

Shae Miss gloag , Mr Morell got the food colouring and
then
stood by the plastic cups Mr morell had two cups then
miss gloag
said three two one .

the teachers put five drops of food colouring in and it
didnt
do anything until … There was little bubbles
coming down and then
we waited for a tiny while
and
then  the lovely teachers put one tablet of alka seltzer
in it and it just sat there and it was
fizzing . then ..
The food colouring started to move down and then move up
, they were in a shape of a circle it  the bubbles of food
colouring .
Some others didn’t work because different timing ,different
amounts of vegetable oil ,
!water or maybe there was a stronger drop of food
colouring
then the others ,The food colouring could be lighter and watery

from the others .
The Alka seltzer had sunk into the bottom and the food
colouring
was moving up
,
the shape was a circle and there were little air bubbles
big bubbles medium bubbles
' coming up and then it moved back down !
Before the Alka-Seltzer is dropped in the bottle,
the oil floats on the colored water. Oil floats because it is less dense than water.


vegetable  Oil and water and that you will need five
drops of vegetable oil and that the experiment may not work
with Sertern oil You will need vegetable oil to do this
amazing Science!
